Guitar Playing Hawaiian Style

Guitar Playing Hawaiian Style
This is the first volume in a planned series of three volumes of lessons in Ki Ho'alu - Hawaiian slack key guitar. With this volume, the student can explore the Taro Patch or Open G tuning and its variations. There are nine pieces; each is written out in tablature and recorded on the accompanying CD. Each piece is followed by an extensive hints section with suggested fingering. The book is based on Ozzie Kotani's eleven years of teaching slack key. While it is aimed at the beginning player, experienced players will also enjoy learning this new set of tunes which are more than just practice pieces. They are strong, melodic performance pieces. Titles are: 'Kani Ki Ho'alu', 'Manuela Bay', 'Molehu', 'Awiwi', 'Maunaloa', 'Manamana Lele', 'Ewalu', 'Kakahiaka', 'Namaka's'.
