Music of Latin America for Acoustic Guitar 
This superb collection features 31 solo guitar settings of a colorful spectrum of music from Brazil, Venezuela, Columbia, Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Peru, the Dominican Republic, and Uruguay. The music is derived largely from 19th and 20th century piano literature. While many anonymously composed selections are included here, most of these tunes were written by professional musicians who happened to be pianists, band directors or arrangers. Typical of the period, some orchestral scores appears as piano reductions, which Professor Barreiro has also used as a source for his guitar transcriptions. All of these selections are presented in standard notation and tablature with historical and performance notes. Titles are: Bolivia: 'En lo frondoso' ( Anonymous); Brazil: 'Odeón' (Ernesto Nazareth), 'Coracão que sente' (Ernesto Nazareth), 'Tico-Tico no fuba' ( Zequinha do Abreu); Chile: 'La Mercedes' (Isidora Zegers); Colombia: 'Por un beso de tu boca' (Guillermo Quevedo); Costa Rica: 'Mariquita' (Anonymous); Cuba: 'La tarde' (Sindo Garay), 'La Bayamesa' (Sindo Garay), 'Corazón' (Eduardo Sánchez de Fuentes), 'La tarde está amorosa' (Ignacio Cervantes), 'La Matilde' (Manuel Saumell), 'El mambí' (Luis Casas Romero); Dominican Republic: 'El sueño' (Mariano Arredondo); Ecuador: 'Mis flores negras' (Carlos Amable Ortiz)', 'Yaraví antiguo' (Anonymous)', 'Bartola' (Anonymous), 'Pasillo' (Anonymous); Guatemala: 'San Antonio Polopó' (Mario Bolaños Garcia), 'Ixim' (Anonymous); Mexico: 'La reina de las flores' (Tomás León), 'La luz eléctrica' (Tomás León), 'Yo se lo diré a usted' (Tomás León), 'Vals No. 1' (Andrés David Ramirez), 'Vals No. 2' (Andrés David Ramirez), 'Vals No. 3' (Andrés David Ramirez); Peru: 'Suspiros del Chanchamayo' (Anonymous); Puerto Rico:, 'Tu y yo' (Angel Mislán), 'No me toques' (Juan Morel Campos)'; Uruguay: 'El montonero' (Anonymous); Venezuela: 'Contradanza' (Anonymous).
