Many children start learning the guitar, but after sometime few of them practise so ardently and enthusiastically as at the beginning. There are several reasons for this. One is certainly the limited amount of time available for practising in a school child's day. Instructors have to find a way of awakening and increasing the interest of their pupils, so that they continue to enjoy making music.

In this respect playing chamber music where it is possible to play complete and meaningful works with limited technical prowess and in the company of others can play a special role.

With this in mind I founded the "Guitar Seminars for Children in Saarland" and because of the need for high quality repertoire for guitar ensembles the "International Competition for Composers" for this instrumental group.

The works chosen for the final of the 2nd edition of this Seminar were played in public by the children who participated in the course. The Jury consisted of Roberto Aussel, Michael Macmeeken and myself.

Here is the second book of the series "Playing Together" which will surely be most welcome in classes, amongst friends or for musical gatherings.
