Volume 3 in this outstanding series features ten rare tracks by Austrian guitarist Luise Walker. These solos confirm Walker’s position as one of the great guitarists of the 1930’s. They are coupled with eight solos by J. S. Bach from 1947 performed by Andrés Segovia. Titles are: Segovia: ‘Chaconne (from Violin Partita No. 2) BWV1004’, ‘Gavottes 1 & 2 (from Violin Partita No. 3) BWV1006’, ‘Prelude for Lute BWV999’, ‘Courante (from Cello Suite No. 3) BWV1009’, ‘Sarbande (from Lute Suite No. 1) BWV996’, ‘Bourrée (from Lute Suite No. 1) BWV996’, ‘Gavottes 1 & 2 (from Cello Suite No. 6) BWV1000’ (J.S. Bach). Walker: ‘Gran Jota’ (Tárrega), ‘Variations on Schubert’s ‘Die Forelle’ (Friessnegg), ‘Italienisch Fantasie’ (Dominici), ‘Nocturne Op. 9, No. 2’ (Chopin), ‘Standchen’ (Schubert), ‘Minuet for Guitar, Viola & Flute’ (Weber), ‘Traumerei’ (Schumann), ‘Waltz in ‘A’ Flat’ (Brahms), ‘Guitar Quintet No. 7’ (Boccherini).
